29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(b) or 1926.652(c): At the jobsite located at 10420 W 50th Place in Shawnee, Kansas; an employee engaged in plumbing activities ,repairing a sewer line, in an excavation found to be approximately 10 feet in depth was exposed to cave-in hazards in that a protective system was not used. The excavation was approximately 9 feet long and the width ranged from 3.5 feet to 5.25 feet across.
