29 CFR 1915.1001(k)(9)(ii): Training was not provided to employees who were likely to be exposed in excess of a Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) and/or all employees who perform Class I through IV asbestos operations, prior to or at the time of initial assignment and at least annually thereafter. a) On or about August 27, 2016, in the area damaged during a collision at level A of the floating dry-dock, employees were instructed to conduct Class III asbestos work and the employer failed to ensure the employees were trained before they were assigned to remove a section of duct covered with Asbestos Containing Material or Presumed Asbestos Containing Material, exposing the employees to asbestos exposure hazards.
