Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 007 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.184(d): Each day before being used, slings and all fastenings and attachments were not inspected for damage or defects by a competent person designated by the employer: The employer does not ensure alloy steel chain slings are inspected. This violation was observed on or about July 13, 2016, in the trim shop along the monorail system, exposing employees to the hazard of falling loads. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation describing the steps that is taking to ensuring slings are inspected prior to each use.
