29 CFR 1926.1101(j)(1)(i): The employer did not establish a decontamination area, consisting of an equipment room, shower area, and clean room in series, adjacent and connected to the regulated area: Note: This requirement applies to Class I operations involving over 25 linear or 10 square feet of thermal system insulation or surfacing containing asbestos-containing material or presumed asbestos-containing material. a.) Facility - On or about 5/14/16, employees removed an ~ 15 x 7' area of layered flooring in the 'old building' (circa 1900), of which one layer consisted of white insulation materials (25% chrysotile asbestos) that was greater that 10 SF. The employer did not establish a decontamination area that included the required equipment room, shower, clean room in series, etc. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
