29 CFR 1910.213(b)(3): Provisions were not made to prevent woodworking machine(s) from automatically restarting upon restoration of power after power failure: On or about January 11, 2016, in the plastic department, the employer failed to ensure that the electrical system on the Delta band saw was wired correctly. The band saw did not have an on/off switch and was energized by plugging in the cord. There was also no safety feature that prevented the saw from restarting after a power failure. Employees exposed to the hazard of being cut by the saw blade from an unexpected start-up.
