Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 007 Hazard: EXPLOSION
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occuaptional Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Employees were exposed to hazards caused by the possibility of the introduction of small objects into the explosives operation because plant clothing/power uniforms contained pockets pf a non-lattice type. a) Howard Boulevard, Kenvil, N.J. production area - Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to use pockets that are of a lattice type. Reference made to DOD 4146.26M chapter 3, K and Industry Practice. Violation observed on or about 7/13/89.
