29 CFR 1910.146(d)(9): Develop and implement procedures for summoning rescue and emergency services, for rescuing entrants from permit spaces, for providing necessary emergency services to rescued employees, and for preventing unauthorized personnel from attempting a rescue; a. On or about September 25, 2017, located at Furnace #2 and Furnace #3, employees were exposed to injury from the hazards associated with permit-required confined space entry. The employer failed to develop and implement procedures for summoning rescue and emergency services, rescuing entrants from the furnaces, providing necessary emergency services to rescue employees and for preventing unauthorized personnel from attempting a rescue.
