29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iii): Employee training did not include the measures employees can take to protect themselves from chemical hazards, including specific procedures the employer had implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures and personal protective equipment to be used. On or about November 11, 2020, an explosion occurred during the manufacturing of PureVista a water-activated product used to generate chlorine dioxide and the employer did not ensure that employees and management officials were provided effective training on hazards to which they were exposed. Effective training lacked one or more of the following elements: such as training on housekeeping elements, and explosion controls. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
