Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 006C Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.502(d)(16)(iii): Personal fall arrest systems, when stopping a fall, were not rigged such that an employee could not free fall more than 6 feet (1.8 m) nor contact any lower level: (a) 938 Washington St., Allentown, PA 18102: On or about December 21, 2023, an employee was on the top of an approximately 7 ft ladder which was positioned next to a wall opening to the outside where a fall hazard of greater than 6 feet exists. The employee was wearing a harness with a rope lanyard, but the rope had too much slack and would not have prevented free fall of more than 6 feet in the event of a fall.
