29 CFR 1910.219(f)(3): Sprocket wheels and chains which were seven (7) feet or less above floors or platforms were not enclosed: (a) Wardwell 16-Carrier Braiding Machines - On machines 1 through 34, the drive chains and sprockets, below waist level, driving the worm gear at the rear of the machine and driving the gears at the front of the machine for the pay-off and take-up spools, did not have guarding, exposing employees to caught-in and entanglement hazards, on or about February 9, 2022. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
