29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: a) Shop: On or about September 17, 2021, employees operated machines cut, notch, drill holes and apply edge banding to melamine laminated flakeboard, which is composed primarily of wood, using woodworking machines which created dust. The dust is explosive dust, Kst = 24.25 bar*meter/second, and wood dust causes cancer of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses and of the nasopharynx, but the employer did not provide the required Hazard Communication information to employees.
