29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iii): Employee training did not include the measures employees can take to protect themselves from chemical hazards, including specific procedures the employer had implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures and personal protective equipment to be used (Agriculture Reference: 1928.21(a)(5)): The employer failed to provide chemical hazard communication training on measures employees can take to protect from hazardous chemicals. Employees who were exposed to decomposition gases such as, but not limited to, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and methane, were not trained on how adequate ventilation could be provided, applicable respiratory protection, and prohibiting smoking where a potential explosion hazard existed. Abatement documentation is required for this violation.
