29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: b) Machine Shop, on or about 9/17/14: Six milling machines were not provided with guards to prevent contact with the rotating serrated chucks and tooling. c) Machine Shop, on or about 9/17/14: Three drill presses were not provided with guards to prevent contact with the rotating serrated chucks and tooling. e) Machine Shop near E15 Area, on or about 9/17/14: DoAll Lathe was being operated without the use of the attached chuck guard. f) Machine Shop near E15 Area, on or about 9/17/14: Clausing drill press was not provided with a guard to prevent contact with the rotating serrated chuck and tool. i) Facilities Maintenance Melt, on or about 10/2/14: Jet horizontal bandsaw was not provided with guarding over the unused portion of the blade. j) Transfer Casting Room, on or about 10/2/14: Duracraft drill press was not provided with a guard to prevent contact with the serrated chuck and tool. l) Elastomer Shop, on or about 10/2/14: Craftsman drill press was not provided with a guard over the rotating serrated chuck and tool.
