29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2):Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of Copper fumes and titanium dioxide listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration: a) Spray Coating Area: An employee who sprays TCI Powder Coatings containing titanium dioxide was exposed to an airborne concentration at an 8 hour time-weighted average of 21 milligrams per cubic meter which was 1.4 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 15 milligrams per cubic meter. The sampling was conducted for 446 minutes during one shift on 12/20/22. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled time. b) Welding Area: An employee who performs welding on metal parts was exposed to an airborne concentration of copper fumes at an 8-hour time weighted average of 0.18 milligrams per cubic meter which was 1.8 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 0.1 milligrams per cubic meter. The sampling was conducted for 446 minutes during one shift on 12/20/22. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled time. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
