29 CFR 1910.120(q)(2)(ix): The emergency response plan did not address, to the extent not addressed elsewhere, emergency alerting and response procedures: a) GEA/FES and Frick ammonia refrigeration systems: Employees working as ammonia refrigeration system operators are required to respond to ammonia releases at the facility. The employers emergency response plan did not address response procedures such as, but not limited to, the required action needed based on the extent and location of a release, on or about 10/10/2017. b) GEA/FES and Frick ammonia refrigeration systems: The employer's emergency response plan failed to address how operators working on the roof would be alerted to an emergency condition. The employer relied on a WIFI phones to alert employees of an emergency situation, however, a WIFI signal was not available at all locations where employees would be working, on or about 10/10/2017. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
