29 CFR 1926.1101(i)(1): The employer did not provide or require the use of protective clothing such as coveralls or similar whole-body clothing, head coverings, gloves, and foot coverings for employees performing Class I work which involved the removal of over 25 linear or 10 square feet of thermal system insulation or surfacing asbestos containing material and presumed asbestos containing material: a.) Facility - On or about5/14/16, two employees removed 15' x7' section of flooring from the 'old' building (circa 1900). The flooring consisted of two layers of wood flooring with a layer of white insulation in between (25% chrysotile asbestos). The employer did not ensure that the employees performing the removal were provided with or used protective clothing such as whole-body tyveks with hoods or similar clothing, when removing over 10 SF of thermal system insulation or surfacing asbestos-containing materials. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
