29 CFR 1910.219(c)(3): Vertical or inclined shafting seven feet or less from floor or working platform was not enclosed with stationary casing: (a) Wardwell 16-Carrier Braiding Machines 1 through 34 - The inclined rotating shaft, with a top height between 61.5 inches to 69 inches above the floor, between the worm gear at the bottom and the bevel gear at the top, for driving the pitch gears, on the rear of each 16-carrier Wardwell braiding machine, did not have guarding by stationary casing, exposing employees to caught-in and entanglement hazards, on or about February 9, 2022. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
