29 CFR 1926.405(g)(2)(iii): Splices. Flexible cords shall be used only in continuous lengths without splice or tap. Hard service flexible cords No. 12 or larger may be repaired if spliced so that the splice retains the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord being spliced: a) Jobsite: Employer did not ensure that flexible power cables were used free from splices or frays; thus exposing employees to electrical shock hazards. Employees were using frayed cables to power a circular saw on the top floor of the building. Condition was observed on or about 19 OCT 2017 and 3 NOV 2017.
