29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: a) On or about April 21, 2017, in the assembly department, at the cooler assembly section, extension cords were used as permanent wiring for energizing the 3M-Matic case sealing machine Model - 48X5BFCI-F2 and SN S20323FF0078. b) On or about April 21, 2017, in the assembly department, at the box wrapping section, extension cords were used as permanent wiring for energizing the Lantech Stretch Wrapper model Q300XT, SN QX012051. c) On or about April 21, 2017, in the assembly department, at the cooler assembly section, extension cords were used as permanent wiring for energizing the electric polisher. d) On or about April 21, 2017, in the foam gun department, at the temperature control panel, extension cords were used as permanent wiring. Employees use a control panel, to control the temperature of the foam gun hose. The extension cord was hard wired to the control panel and received power from the Tripp Lite Isobar 2 Outlet Surge Protector/Suppressor, Direct Plug-in (ISOBLOK2-0). In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
