Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 006A Hazard:

29 CFR 1910.1052(c)(1): The employer did not ensure that no employee(s) was exposed to an airborne concentration of methylene chloride in excess of twenty-five parts per million as an 8-hour TWA: a) Electro Chemical Engineering - 571 Sheet Application Trailer - An employee, a Liner/Painter, was exposed to at an eight hour time weighted average of 31 PPM of methylene chloride. This level is 1.25 times the time weighted average permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 25 ppm. This exposure occurred over a 405 minute sampling period on January 13, 2017. A zero exposure was assumed for the 75 minutes not sampled. The employer did not ensure that no employee(s) exposure exceeded 25 ppm as an 8-hour TWA. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photograph or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
