29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): Powered industrial truck(s) found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe had not been taken out of service until restored to safe operating condition(s): On or about March 17, 2016, employees working on production lines are exposed to struck-by hazards when the following types of deficiencies were not taken out of service: a. Forklift with intermittent problems with the forward/reverse lever Nisson 9P4175 MCP1F2A25LV b. Forklift with brake pedal that went all the way to the floor Nisson 9P2923 MCP1F2A25LV c. Forklift with plastic/twine wrapped around the wheels and other parts of the forklift. Nisson 9P7751 MCP1F2A25LV, Nisson 9W3554 MCP1F2A25LV In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
