29 CFR 1910.1000(c): An employee(s) was exposed to silica as crystalline quartz in excess of the 8-hour time weighted average limits of 1.895 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3) listed in Table Z-3: a) Sandblast area, on or about 2/10/16: Sand blasters blasting railcar parts with Blackblast were exposed to silica at 3.45 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3) or 1.8 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 1.895 mg/m3 based on the 212 minute sampling period. A zero increment was included for the 268 minutes not sampled. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item
