29 CFR 1910.307(c): Equipment, wiring methods, and installations of equipment in hazardous (classified) locations were not intrinsically safe, approved for the hazardous (classified) location, or safe for the hazardous (classified) location. a)Engine rooms: On or about December 14, 2010 and at times prior thereto, the engine room was not equipped with wiring classified for use in a Class 1, Division 2 location. b)LPR-2 Room: On or about December 14, 2010 and at times prior thereto, the engine room was not equipped with wiring classified for use in a Class 1, Division 2 location. Abatement Note: In lieu of installing classified wiring, the employer may ensure that an ammonia alarm is connected to the ventilation system, or that ventilation is constant with mechanical failure alarms per ASHRAE-15. Note: Abatement certification and supporting documentation are required for this item.
