Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 006 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.454(a):The employer did not have each employee who performs work while on a scaffold(s) trained by a person qualified in the subject matter to recognize those hazards associated with the type of scaffold(s) being used and to understand the procedures to control or minimize those hazards identified in items (1-5): On or about February 22, 2025, employees engaged in commercial wind turbine blade repair, located at 56660 851st Road, Winside, NE 68790, were exposed to fall hazards in that the employer had employees assembling and working out of a single point suspended scaffold without having provided them training specific to single point suspended scaffolding. Specific training required includes but is not limited to: a) The requirement of overhead lifeline attachments independent of the single point suspended scaffolding connections for the primary and secondary lines. b) The requirement for a competent scaffold person to inspect the scaffolding system to include the wire rope for damage and the connection points to the rigging in the nacelle.
