29 CFR 1910.335(a)(1)(i): Employees working in areas where there are potential electrical hazards shall be provided with, and shall use, electrical protective equipment that is appropriate for the specific parts of the body to be protected and for the work to be performed. On or about April 29, 2025, the employer did not ensure that maintenance personnel who were exposed to electrical hazards when performing tasks on and near energized circuits were provided with and used electrical protective equipment for the body, hands, head, and face. An unqualified person wired new connections in the electrical cabinet of the MultiVac packaging machine and then conducted live voltage testing on 240V AC circuits without any Arc Flash Category I apparel and protective equipment such as, but not limited to: - rubber insulated gloves (00) with protectors or arc-rated gloves; - hard hat; - safety glasses or safety goggles; - hearing protection (ear canal inserts); - Arc-rated long-sleeve shirt and pants or Arc-rated overall; - Arc-rated face shield or Arc flash suit hood;
