29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Employees engaged in manufacturing operations located at 84504 North State Highway 11, Burwell, Nebraska 68823, were exposed to laceration, caught-in and amputation hazards in that employees were observed using unguarded stationary pedestal drill press machines to punch various hole into metal. This was most recently documented on or about April 10th, 2024. Instances of failures include but are not limited to: 1.) One unguarded Ellis drill press in the Maintenance shop. 2.) Two unguarded drill presses in the old shop. 3.) Unguarded Sharp mechanical dill presses in the old shop. 4.) One unguarded IBARMIA A-40 drill press in the old shop.
