29 CFR 1910.243(c)(3): Abrasive wheels used on vertical portable grinder (right angle head grinders) were not provided with a safety guard having a maximum exposure angle of 180 degrees and located between the operator and wheel: a) Strobic Building - Employees were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards in that the employer allowed the employee to operate the Metabo Angle Grinder, Model - D 72622 (11,500 RPM), without the safety guard. This condition was observed on or about January 4, 2024. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
