Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 006 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.454(a): The employer shall have each employee who performs work while on a scaffold trained by a person qualified in the subject matter to recognize the hazards associated with the type of scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to control or minimize those hazards. The training shall include the following areas, as applicable: 29 CFR 1926.454(a)(1): The nature of any electrical hazards, fall hazards and falling object hazards in the work area; 1926.454(a)(2): The correct procedures for dealing with electrical hazards and for erecting, maintaining, and disassembling the fall protection systems and falling object protection systems being used; 29 CFR 1926.454(a)(3): The proper use of the scaffold, and the proper handling of materials on the scaffold; a. On or about December 4, 2023, located at the jobsite 4547 West Northbank Road, Buckeye Lake, Ohio, the employer did not ensure an employee working on a scaffold platform at heights over 19 feet to install a window was trained on the proper use of the scaffold, handling of materials and how to recognize/mitigate hazards such as falls, exposing the employee to falls over 19 feet.
