29 CFR 1926.850(a): An engineering survey was not performed by a competent person to determine the conditions of the framing floors and walls and the possibility of unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure prior to permitting employees to start demolition operations. Evidence in writing was not available that an engineering survey performed by a competent person had been performed prior to permitting employee(s) to start demolition operations: a) On November 16, 2023 and at times prior thereto, employees were engaged in removing a metal-on-metal awning as part of a demolition project. There was no evidence an engineering survey had been performed. NOTE: Certification of corrective action required for this item.
