29 CFR 1910.253(b)(4)(iii): Oxygen cylinders in storage were not separated from fuel-gas cylinders or combustible materials (especially oil or grease), a minimum distance of 20 feet or by a noncombustible barrier at least 5 feet high having a fire-resistance rating of at least one-half hour: a) Plant Floor - Oxygen compressed gas cylinders were not stored at least 20 feet from acetylene (fuel gas) cylinders. The employer stored four 100 pound oxygen cylinder and three 50 pound acetylene cylinders approximately 10.5 feet from each other, thus exposing employees to fire/explosion hazards. This condition was observed on or about August 31, 2023. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
