29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: Employees engaged in maintenance/housekeeping activities were exposed to chemical hazards in that they were not provided training on the chemical hazards of Lustra shampoos, detergents, polishes and presoaks at the time of their initial assignment. The chemical hazards associated with Lustra shampoos, detergents, polishes and presoaks include: severe skin burns and serious eye damage, throat irritation, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, vertigo, loss of consciousness, is corrosive to mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract and may cause cancer and damage to organs. Additionally, these Lustra products can act as a fueling agent as they are noted as combustible liquids.
