29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. a) Final Assembly: The front rotating wheel on the side of the Dayton 6X9 Belt Sander, Model # 6Y001A, lot # 200404 was not guarded to protect employees against an in-going nip point . On or about 6/9/22 b) Machine Shop: The spindle to the left of the headstock on the Hardinge Lathe chuck was not guarded to protect employees against rotating parts. On or about 6/9/22 c) Machine Shop: The Chuck and Tail Stock on the Cadillac Lathe MFG 060096 were not guarded to protect employees against rotating parts. On or about 6/9/22 d) Machine Shop: The Chuck and Tail Stock on the Cadillac Lathe MFG 0500712 were not guarded to protect employees against rotating parts. On or about 6/9/22 e) Machine Shop: The Chuck and Tail Stock on the Sharp 2160 Ser# L15005 were not guarded to protect employees against rotating parts. On or about 6/9/22 f) Fabrication Area across from Time Saver: The rotating spindles on the Fiber Wheel and the Fiber Brush were not guarded to protect employees against rotating parts. On or about 6/9/22 g) Fabrication Area next to Time Saver: The rotating spindle on the Fiber wheel was not guarded to protect employees against rotating parts. On or about 6/9/22 h) Fabrication Area next to Time Saver: The front wheel on the side of the horizontal belt sander was not guarded to protect employees against an in-going nip point. On or about 6/9/22 NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
