29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) JOHNS MANVILLE, INC., Facility located at 437 North Grove Street, Berlin NJ 08009 - Facing area - Band Saw/Slitter Machine: Employees are exposed to unguarded portions of blades around the slitter blades, the blades are partially covered by individual guards that do not protect some of the blade(s) portion(s). The employees reach with a tool to clean/clear the excess material from the blades. However, there is an unguarded opening where employee has access to the blades. Observed on or about 11/16/2021.
