Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 006 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a) Shark Glass Recycling, LLC, Lavonia, GA - On the PVB side of the waste water treatment area, the emergency eye wash/shower was not hooked up to a water supply, dirty, obstructed by a large tote, and greater than 35 feet from the a corrosive. The eye/wash shower was not readily accessible in the event of an emergency. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
