Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 006 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(a): "General." Safety-related work practices shall be employed to prevent electric shock or other injuries resulting from either direct or indirect electrical contacts, when work is performed near or on equipment or circuits which are or may be energized. The specific safety-related work practices shall be consistent with the nature and extent of the associated electrical hazards. a. On or about September 21, 2018, located on the mezzanine at southwest wall, there was a Sander Automation electrical 480 VAC electrical cabinet that had a broken indoor panel disconnect requiring employees to open the door to access the panel while live. Safety-related work practices, i.e. proper personal protective equipment, wear of jewelry, etc. were not employed while the employees were working within the cabinet, thereby exposing the employees to arc flash/blast and electrical shock hazards.
