29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: This violation occurred on or about December 6, 2017, and times prior thereto: a. In the shop area near the West wall where employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-by hazards when operating a manual Monarch lathe without a chuck guard. b. In the shop area near the North wall where employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-by hazards when operating a manual Monarch lathe without a chuck guard. c. In shop, where employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-by hazards when operating a DoAll Model C-916 horizontal band saw without the unused portion of the blade being guarded. d. In shop, where employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-by hazards when operating a Clausing MultiTurn 4000 CNC lathe without interlocking guards. e. In shop, where employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-by hazards when operating a Clausing MultiTurn 4000 CNC lathe without an access door.
