29 CFR 1910.68(b)(12): Emergency exit ladder. A fixed metal ladder accessible from the "up" and "down" run of the manlift was not provided for the entire travel of the manlift. a) On or about 4/24/2017 and at times prior thereto the employer did not ensure that an emergency ladder was provided for the A-side manlift located in the grain cleaning room exposing employees stuck on the manlift due to power and/or equipment failure to a fall hazard of up to approximately 49 feet down to the concrete floor below. b) On or about 4/24/2017 and at times prior thereto the employer did not ensure that an emergency ladder was provided for the B-side manlift located in the basement below the B-side silos exposing employees stuck on the manlift due to power and/or equipment failure to a fall hazard down to the concrete floor below.
