29 CFR 1910.219(c)(2)(i): All exposed parts of horizontal shafting seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform, excepting runways used exclusively for oiling, or running adjustments, shall be protected by a stationary casing enclosing shafting completely or by a trough enclosing sides and top or sides and bottom of shafting as location requires. Hamilton Printing Press #6 - On or about August 24 to August 31, 2016, a horizontal rotating shaft for power transmission along the back side of the press, along the aisleway, was not guarded throughout its run approximately three feet above the floor. Employees were exposed to caught-in and crushing injuries to the hands, arms and body. There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.
