Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 006 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(b)(7)(i): Unused openings in boxes, raceways, auxiliary gutters, cabinets, equipment cases, or housings shall be effectively closed to afford protection substantially equivalent to the wall of the equipment. The employer is failing to protect employees from electrical hazards associated with exposed live electrical components of a electrical panel box. This was most recently evident during the inspection of the facility located at 2215 Leavenworth St., Omaha, NE, where the employer has employees accessing the electrical panel used in de-energizing equipment and overhead lighting with missing circuit box openings.
