29 CFR 1926.51(g): Employees were permitted to consume food or beverage in area(s) exposed to toxic materials: (a) On and after 01/18/2016 through 3/1/2016, at GE Power, Building 5, 4E floor, for the laborers removing debris by hand and using HEPA vacuums and mercury vacuums to remove hazardous materials such as, but not limited to, elemental mercury, soil contaminated with mercury and wood contaminated with mercury. The employer provided water for the employees to keep hydrated in the containment area.
