Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by an ejected die block: a) Press Brake department, Cincinnati press brake,company number 225: set up employees who change dies and utilize die blocks were exposed to hazard of die block ejection from the die bed of the press. Among other methods, one feasible and accepted abatement method is to electrically interlock the die blocks to prohibit initiation of a press stroke with the die block in the press. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIREDATION
