29 CFR 1910.217(e)(1): Inspection and maintenance records. The employer shall establish and follow an inspection program having a general component and a directed component. a) On or about October 6, 2015, the employer failed to establish and follow a program of periodic and regular inspections for the Minster 7 mechanical power presses to ensure that all parts, auxiliary equipment, and safeguards of the press were in a safe operating condition and adjustment. Employees were exposed to amputation injuries due to the lack of press inspections.
