29 CFR 1910.179(n)(3)(i): The load shall be well secured and properly balanced in the sling or lifting device before it is lifted more than a few inches. a. On or about June 9, 2015, located in the Assembly Bay, employees were hoisting an I-beam that was not well secured by inserting the rigging's hook tips into the drilled holes of the load which caused a tip loading condition of the hooks, thereby exposing the employees to a struck-by hazard.
