Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.255(b)(5): Shields. The hazard of flying sparks shall be, wherever practical, eliminated by installing a shield guard of safety glass or suitable fire-resistant plastic at the point of operation. Additional shields or curtains shall be installed as necessary to protect passing persons from flying sparks. (See 1910.252(b)(2)(i)(C) of this section.) a) On or before 1/14/2025, the employer did not ensure that flying sparks were eliminated by installing a type of shield guard on the spot welders such as, but not limited too; the DENGENSHA TOA (Model: NDZ-05T-48BSQ-P-D) to prevent exposure to the hazards of the flying sparks during production.
