29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: Central Paper Stock, Inc. located at 6665 Jonas Place in Berkeley, MO 63134: The employer is failing to protect employees from chemical contact burn hazards. This hazard was most recently observed on or about 11/17/2021, where the employer failed to require employees to use appropriate hand protection when changing propane fuel cylinders on power industrial trucks. This condition could expose employees to skin burns (frostbite) from contact with liquid propane. Employees routinely changed out propane fuel cylinders without adequate hand protection.
