29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: a. In the machine shop on March 10, 2014, employees were exposed to a Baldor pedestal grinder 3/4 inch, Model 5246, Serial #: 6480, with the tongue guard that exceeded one fourth inch, exposing employees to Struck-by hazards. b. In the machine shop on March 10, 2014, employees were exposed to a Pit Bull 10 inch pedestal grinder 1/2 inch, Serial #:10987, with the tongue guard that exceeded one fourth inch, exposing employees to Struck-by hazards. c. In the machine shop on March 10, 2014, employees were exposed to a Baldor pedestal grinder 1/2 inch, Model 621, Serial #: F479, with the tongue guard that exceeded one fourth inch, exposing employees to Struck-by hazards. d. In the machine shop on March 10, 2014, employees were exposed to the United States Electrical Tool Company pedestal grinder 1/2 inch with the tongue guard that exceeded one fourth inch, exposing employees to Struck-by hazards.
