29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): a) On or about April 28, 2025, and at times prior, the employer, Powdr - Copper Mountain LLC DBA Copper Mountain Resort, did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment. Employees required to perform duties in the kitchen area of Jack's Restaurant were exposed to scalding injuries. An assessment of this work area had not been performed to determine present and potential hazards as well as the appropriate personal protective equipment to be worn during kitchen operations. This condition exposed employees to scalding and chemical burn injuries.
