29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8): The employer did not ensure that safety data sheets were readily accessible to the employees in their work area during each shift for chemicals used: a) On or about October 29, 2024 - Kamesi Corporation - 111 E 100th St Apt 2B, New York NY 10029 - Bathroom Employees performed bathtub refinishing using hazardous chemicals, including but not limited to Hoodstrip-888 Semi-Paste Remover, which contains 75-90% Methylene Chloride (MC). Exposure to MC can result in serious health risks, including central nervous system depression, unconsciousness, and potentially death through inhalation or skin absorption. The employer did not ensure that employees had access to the safety data sheets (SDS) for the chemicals that they use. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19.
