29 CFR 1910.107(g)(3): Approved metal waste cans were not provided where rags or waste were impregnated with finishing material were deposited and the contents of those waste cans were not properly disposed of at least once daily or at the end of each shift: (a) Spray Finishing Department - On or about May 23, 2024, employees were exposed to fire hazards. Waste rags used to clean up finishing materials, including Xylene (a category 3 flammable liquid with a flashpoint of 81 degree F), were deposited into non-metal containers and left to accumulate across multiple shifts. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.13(c).
