29 CFR 1910.243(c)(3): Abrasive wheels used on vertical portable grinder(s) (right angle head grinders) were not provided with safety guard(s) having a maximum exposure angle of 180 degrees and located between the operator and wheel: (a)On or about May 13, 2024, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure a DeWalt D28402 handheld angle grinder in the welding department was equipped with a guard. An employee was grinding on stainless sink frames without the safety guard. This condition exposed an employee to struck-by hazards associated with grinding operations.
